Frequently asked

Answers to the things people ask most.

How does Edmanly's escrow actually work?
The buyer transfers money to Edmanly's segregated escrow account when the deal is created. We hold it, not the seller. When the buyer confirms they received what was promised (or when an agreed inspection window elapses), we release the money to the seller. If something goes wrong, either side can open a dispute and we mediate based on the evidence both submit.
What are the fees?
We charge a service fee per successful escrow transaction. The exact amount is shown clearly in the app before the buyer funds the escrow. No surprises after the fact. Cancelled or unfunded transactions don't incur any fee. We'll publish the live fee schedule in the app and on this page once we finalize it with our payment partners.
How long do withdrawals take?
Once a transaction completes, funds appear in your Edmanly wallet instantly. Withdrawing to your linked Egyptian bank account takes 1–3 business days depending on the bank. Withdrawals to mobile wallets (Vodafone Cash, InstaPay) are typically same-day.
What if there's a dispute?
Either party can open a dispute from the transaction screen. The funds stay locked; neither side can withdraw them. Each party uploads evidence (chat history, photos, delivery receipts, etc.) and our dispute team reviews everything before issuing a binding decision. The full process is documented in our Terms of Service.
Is Edmanly regulated?
Edmanly is an Egyptian LLC, registered under Egyptian commercial law. We operate as a P2P escrow service in partnership with licensed payment institutions (who hold the actual customer funds in segregated accounts). We comply with Egyptian AML/CFT regulations and follow KYC standards on par with banks.
What payment methods are supported?
At launch: Egyptian bank cards (Visa, Mastercard), Meeza, Vodafone Cash, Etisalat Cash, Orange Cash, and InstaPay direct transfers. We'll add more as we go. Apple Pay and Google Pay are on the near-term roadmap.
How is my identity verified?
We use Didit for KYC. You upload your national ID (front + back) and take a quick selfie that goes through a liveness check to confirm it's actually you. Phone verification is handled by Akedly: a 6-digit SMS code. The whole process takes about 2 minutes, and you only do it once.
Is my money safe?
Yes. Customer funds are held in segregated accounts by licensed payment institutions. They're not commingled with Edmanly's operating funds. We do not own the money in escrow; we direct when it moves based on the rules of the transaction. Encryption-in-transit (TLS), encryption-at-rest, and bank-grade security practices are documented in our Privacy Policy.
